CHAT 60 speakerphone for hands-free Skype calls

I have used the CHAT 60 on numerous Skype calls and have found the audio to be extremely good. It is nice to have a speakerphone like the CHAT 60 so that I am not tied to my PC with a headset. Installation is simple; I just plugged in the USB cable (included) and the device was instantly recognized and became the default audio device for Windows. The CHAT 60 is full-duplex (you can talk and listen at the same time, without the audio cutting out) and the echo cancellation is excellent. After loading Skype, all I have to do is click on a contact to make a call and the audio comes through the CHAT 60. The audio is remarkably clear, both on my end, and on the other end of the call. The CHAT 60 performed flawlessly and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality speakerphone for hands-free calls with Skype.

After using MagicJack for several months and having all sorts of problems (calls wouldn’t go through, touch tones not recognized, audio dropouts, etc.) I decided to switch to Skype which I use for outgoing calls only ($30 per year unlimited US and Canada) to keep my incoming line free. I wanted a speakerphone since most of my calls involve having to hold and I don’t like headsets. The Chat 60 has worked perfectly on my iMac (running OS X 10.6.3). I plugged it in a USB port, selected it under Skype Preferences and it just worked. And it doesn’t hijack the audio out for other applications – those continue to use my built in computer speakers. Sound quality is crystal clear on both sides. There is a mute button and volume up/down. I couldn’t be happier with it!

I work remotely and rely on Skype and GoToMeeting to keep in touch. I use this product 4-6 hours a day. Works flawlessly. Highly recommend! I do wish there was a physical hang up button, to end calls and terminate Skype sessions.
