otterbox knockoff

I ordered this for my daughter who just purchased the new iphone 4 as a gift. I just couldn’t fathom paying almost $40 @ the Verizon store for the original Otterbox, so I went online to look for a better deal and I found one! THe color is perfect and it fits like a glove! It isn’t quite as durable or rigid as the Otterbox and isn’t as bulky, but I think that’s what she likes about it. It is easy to get off and on and for the price it was the deal of the summer! Love it!!

Solid functional case, asthetics issues, good price

The case is very solid in terms of fit and protection. It does take time to assemble. The case comes with some clear screens as “windows” that you must install with a double-stick gasket. This was not very easy, requiring some precision work to get it right, but it is worth it due to the added protection. The actual screen protector that comes with it is easily scratched and will not last long, so I plan to replace this with a 3rd party screen protector. This case keeps the profile of the phone small, without adding too much bulk. I like the combo of hard inner shell, and silicone skin. The silicone flaps are used to cover some of the ports, like the mute switch and the charger port. The silicone flaps work like close-fitting “plugs.” The flap on my mute switch doesn’t fit all that well, and I am concerned that the flaps may wear down after a while without fitting as well – will have to wait and see. The colors are vibrant on the cases. Also, be aware that the hard inner case has a smallish port to allow a charger plug, so if you are using a non-standard charger that has a large end (like a car charger, or a clock radio charger), it might not fit unless you remove the entire case, which can be a big deal to some. My main downgrade is that the silicone case had a very significant jagged seam running all around the outside, from the silicone mold used to create it. It looks really bad on my case skin. It should have been trimmed or smoothed somehow. It makes the case look cheap and ugly. So, I took a razor blade and trimmed the seam, but it really will never look very nice. I am going to use it for a while until it wears out, then probably would buy a more expensive case next time, in a way that would allow me to inspect the finish prior to purchase. Still, if you don’t care about the seam, it is a strong functional case at a good price.

This item was good its really similar to the iPhone 3GS otterbox. But the screen protectors have to be glued onto the box.
